This my friends and anonymous stalkers, is my very first post on my very first blog.

I started this blog for two reasons:

1. I am and epic procrastinator

2. My site hosted by Yahoo sucked, because I fail at HTML

2.5 (I cheated) I love to rant

So I want to embark on an epic journey of blogging my life everyday without having it morph into some depressed teenage drawl full of barely differentiated moaning of how horribly depressing my life is.

AH!  I thought of another reason why I started this blog; it’s free!

So this is how it works, I make some internet and you go and read the internet!  But don’t read it to much, or you’ll freak it out and there’s a good chance that it will run away.

Auto-tuning.

Don’t do it kids.

It’s a pained imitation of talent. A sad narrative of what a crutch technology has become for modern culture. The fact that Lady Gaga is respected for writing her own music shows the depths to which our society’s taste in music as spiraled to. I leave you with this.

The positive correlation between the lateness of the hour and lack of sobriety

Posted in 1 by alex117 on January 3, 2010

Why is it that after 1:00 AM I make strange gurgling noises and I can’t seem to say exactly what I mean?

Why do I stand in a doorway with a vacant expression for several minutes while trying to remember what I was about to do?

Why do I recite the alphabet in a frenzied manner whilst trying to recall what I was doing at the refrigerator?

I slur words after 2:00. I forget words after 3:00. I make up words after 4:00. I rarely speak after 5:00.

I believe that sleep deprivation is a form of substance abuse. A group of people who are completely baked at 7:00 PM behave very similar to a group of people who have not smoked or drank at 4:00 AM.

Facebook Hacking

Posted in 1 by alex117 on January 3, 2010

noun
A broad term for the foul practice of creating a Facebook App that hacks the user thus creating a plethora of unwanted wall posts by the victim: Why’d you send me a link to that porno? I was Facebook Hacked!

Watching movies. A Chronology.

Posted in 1 by alex117 on August 25, 2009

I hath been watchin’ movies.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding- This is especially hilarious for me coming from a partially Greek background. All the weird tendencies that the Greek family has are frighteningly similar to things my Dad does. Finding Greek roots in every word, overly-enthusiastic with potatoes, and the insane Greek dancing. I just thank my lucky stars that I’m 1/4 Greek as opposed to completely Greek!

Children of Men- After seeing My Big Fat Greek Wedding, I change genres from romantic, ethnic, comedy… To macabre, depressing, dystopian future. This movie was very thought provoking and frankly riveting. I find that something about the protagonist male protecting an hour old baby from gunfire gets me much more emotional involved than if he were protecting a pretty blonde. Must be some sort of burgeoning paternal instinct. Plus I liked Key. Oh, and everyone was British. And Michael Caine was in it. And Ed Westwick (Shout out to Mirella). The End Credits were intense, with the track of Children in the background. It was pretty intense.

Step Up: The Streets- This movie… Hmm. Well. It’s really not “my scene”. I didn’t get it. But I could tell when the hardcore, ghetto dance flick turned into a crummy romance with the whole romance-in-the-rain element. It went from intriguing to nauseating.

Made of Honor- It is now 6:00 am. Please don’t hold me responsible.

Themes

Posted in 1 by alex117 on May 4, 2009

I kinda want to settle on this theme because it fits my needs for everything I want to be able to do. Like have enough space for my photos and my text. I like the text spacing and fonts. Right now I’m using a theme called journalist. And I typed all this without looking at what I ‘m typing. *Nods* I except applause and donations.

All Search Engines Look The Same

Posted in 1 by alex117 on May 4, 2009

picture-2 This is a sampling of three different search engines that I used with the term “Humanism”. They all look startlingly IDENTICAL… From left to right: Windows Live, Yahoo, and Google. I mean, really. Where’s your sense of competition? Your individuality? Your copyright infringement lawyers?

Why are all of my applications blue?

Posted in 1 by alex117 on March 21, 2009

I pulled up the application switcher shortcut on my mac today, and I realized every single application’s icon was blue. Why is this. There really is no mac blue default aesthetic, and some of two of those applications were third-party. Is it just coincidence? Is it fate? Have all the choices I have ever made led me to this point in time? I don’t know. All I do know, is that I want some color differentiation in my applications! D:<

Hello there, possibly irate blog followers.

If anyone out there in the whole wide world is still reading this, I would like to make an apology for not posting for a while.

High School registrations stand thus: Honors History, Honors Math, Honors Computer Programming, Honors Spanish, Honors Orchestra, Curric 1 chem, Curric 1 english. not the most fabulous, but still decent.

Watchmen was amazing but I’ll let you read about it elsewhere due to my laziness and lack of oratory skills.

Um, I have CS3 now, through semi-legal activities. I have also procured the iPhone 3.0 beta which turned out to be a spectacular disappointment on a number of levels… I will address this later. Also, I now own a laser pointer via CVS.

I’m sure I’m forgetting other things but in my next post I promise the following: Re-take of my bombed math test grade, iPhone 3.0 fiasco, and ICA with Clara…

No Watchmen, Kick-Butt TV, and High School Registrations; UNRATED AND UNCUT!

Posted in 1 by alex117 on March 10, 2009

Well, I did not end up seeing watchmen as I had originally intended. But I think in my humble opinion it was made up for by the purchase and setting up of our brand new Samsung 40-inch 1080p LCD!!! YIKES THAT MUTHAH F—– IS LARGE! Combined with our sweet new blu-ray player (also samsung, the bd-p1600), the quality is otherworldly. I mean, I know people always say that blu-rays really are the next big thing, HDTV’s are beautiful, but I never really truly appreciated it until now. Well, to be fair, we are upgrading from a 15 year old CRT which is larger in depth than it is in width and height… but still, the picture quality is staggering. I watched a 2001: a space odyssey on blu-ray and it literally looked like it had been filmed yesterday with a 60s theme. Long dead actors looked like present day movie stars, and a movie that would have otherwise put my brother to sleep, kept him captivated… or as captivated you can get an 8-year-old to be…

Okay, now for High School Registrations! *Beethoven’s 5th opening*
Okay, so far I have secured honors Spanish. That… would… be… it… *cries*
By the end of the week I hope to have a recommendation for History and Math. I want to be put in Global for English and History but curric 1 English and honors History. That should be good for me. I also want to join up with Orchestra again which should be easy but I can’t count it as set in stone just yet. The really big news is COMPUTER PROGRAMINGGGG! It has got to be the coolest little class I ever did see. It fits into my schedule, the teacher seems beyond awesome, I won’t have a problem getting in, I’m thoroughly invested in the topic… I’d go on but I would run out of fingers to count the reasons I would sell my soul to the devil for this class, along with my testicles. Oh, yeah… I was also flatly told I was not ready for honors chem. Fuck.

New Macs, High School Placements, and Watchmen

Posted in 1 by alex117 on March 6, 2009

So I think I’ll begin with the least consequential of each of these subjects. This happens to be macs. Now, normally I am a borderline psychotic mac addict, but the announcements were not on par with previous announcements in my mind. Apple brought some new technologies to old computers and update several things about their macs. This is not to say that the upgrades did not give them a significant speed boost for less money, it’s just that I’m so used to seeing revolutionary new products come from apple instead of a standard refresh. So that was rather disappointing, even though I wouldn’t ever get a mac desktop, it would’ve been cool!

Second on my list is high school placements. They are big, bad, and so happening right now it’s not even funny. I have to do well and figure it all out, I haven’t given it much thought and I’m praying I get into decent classes! I’m aiming for honors chem, honors math, honors spanish, and possibly honors history, maybe not. Well, I guess I’ll wish myself luck and figure it out! Oh boy…

Third on my list is Watchmen! I just finished reading the Watchmen graphic novel and I’m thoroughly disturbed, crushed, and exhilarated for the film adaptation! It was so much fun reading the comic, I kept seeing sequences from the trailer in the comic, I think the movie is supposed to be extremely faithful to the comic. I’ve heard some really glowing reviews of the Watchmen movie and I’ve heard reviews that slam it to the ground, beat it up in a dark alley, and steal all of its dignity. Regardless, I am intent on seeing it, and I sincerely hope I don’t have to see it with an over 18 because parents are such a killjoy, especially in movies. I think I could pass myself of as 18, just maybe. Either that or they won’t care. Movie ratings aside, I wanted to see Watchment today on opening day but it looks like that just isn’t going to happen, I hope I can see it over the weekend some time.

When I see it, I’ll review it! *crosses fingers*
